In Honour of Jessica Cabral 2006 has been a very successful & rewarding year for all our teams, however we have been deeply saddened by the loss of Jessica Cabral, one of our Intermediates. Jessica had been with our club since she was 8 years of age. Jess passed away suddenly just one month short of her 16th Birthday. In honour of Jess, St. Gerard’s Callisthenics Club will donate a trophy that will be awarded each year to the winner of the Division 7 Intermediates—’Clubs Section’ at the Royal South Street Competition in Ballarat. Jess will live on in our hearts forever & her memory in a sport that she loved so much.

As a tribute to Jess, we named a star in her name to ensure that her memory lasts forever. The certificate reads: "Know ye herewith that the International Star Registry doth hereby redesignate star number Virgo RA 13h 48m 5s D ~11° 15’ to the name Jessica Maree Cabral ~ Purple Angel. Know ye further that this star will henceforth be known by this name. This name is permanently filed in The Registry’s vault in Switzerland and recorded in a book which will be registered in the copyright office of the United States of America."
